Introduction: The exhibition unfolds in three parts. It begins before Matisse, with a philosophical reflection on solitude and the room. It continues with Matisse's interiors of the 1920s, where the home becomes a place of rest, relaxation and contemplation. It concludes after Matisse, inviting visitors to reflect on how these ideas continue to resonate today.
The project starts with Matisse’s Still Life with Pascal’s Pensées (1924), a painting in which a book quietly opens a wider question: what does it mean to remain still, at home, with one’s own thoughts?
The virtual exhibition will be available from July 20, 2026.
